Maddie wasn't feeling the best Thursday night and into Friday when we left for the mountains, so she spent most of what was left of the evening on the couch with her baby watching Elmo.
Hailey hanging out under the canopy
Here's Jesse, Jayme and Wes trying to stay dry Friday night.
On Saturday morning, while the guys were on their trip, we checked out the near by playground.
Wes and Riley swinging
I was a little grumpy since Dad was away fishing and I really wanted to play with him ... well, I was putting on a good act any way!
Maddie decided she would take care of my grumpy mood... tickle tickle tickle!
I think it worked!
They have a "beach" there, so we checked that out after the unsuccessful fishermen returned.
Hailey and I had fun splashing Kelly ... and I think Kelly had JUST as much fun as we did!
Maddie wasn't so crazy about the "beach" she still wasn't her normal self, and the water was really cold at first.
Here's some more pics from the weekend:
Maddie and Papa
Dad, Jesse and Les
The men and their kids, with the exception of Riley and Wes
We had 2 scares this weekend. The first was Wes. He was playing on the ground when he decided he would eat rocks. Jayme got them out of his mouth and he was so mad, he held his breath so long that we thought he still had one in there and was choking! It was a scary few minutes until we realized that he was just really mad that she took his "snack" away and just needed to calm down ... wshoo!
The second was Maddie ... bet you would have never guessed.
Saturday night, the guys plus me and Haylee decided to go fishing ...
I caught 5 fish by the way!!!!! (Casted my own rod, hooked the fish and reeled them in).
Mom and the girls stayed at the camp with the little kids. Maddie wanted to go in and watch her shows, so Nanny put her in on the bed and started the movie. They heard her at the door and went to open it, but it wouldn't open. She had LOCKED herself in. And guess where Dad had put the keys ... INSIDE the camper! It didn't take long for Maddie to realize that she was stuck and she started screaming. The girls called us down at the lake and we hurried back. While we were getting our stuff and heading back, Mom pried open a window enough that Kelly could get her hand in to turn the knob to open the window some more but it still only tilted out and in order for Maddie to get to the window, she had to climb on the couch which was a little high for her. She struggled and struggled, but finally pulled herself up and came to the window. They had to turn her sideways and slide her out, but she was fine. When we returned, they turned me sideways and pushed me through the window to go open the door. I was the HERO!!!! Wow, what a weekend!
And speaking of Dad's birthday which is today, he came home early from work and we went to ride Go Karts. We had a lot of fun until the thunderstorm came and then we had to leave.
After that, we met up with Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Eyster for some yummy supper at Red Lobster.
Happy Birthday Dad!
