Maddie had her well check up on Monday. This was her 2 yr check but the dr's office kept pushing it back so she was a little late. Here are the stats:
Height: 32 and 3/4 inches (25th %)
Weight: 24.1 lbs (25th %)
HC: 48 (60th %)
So it looks on paper like she gained weight, but in all reality, they weighed her with her clothes on this time and they normally don't do that. Once you are 2 yrs old, your well checks are right in with all the other patients on the "sick" side. So they don't make you strip to get weighed. Mom didn't bring it up to the dr because Maddie continues to eat well and she's still drinking her pediasure. We just figure she's going to be a petite girl. Everything else checked out ok. She is ahead on most of the milestones ... here are some things she can do (from the paper from the pediatrician)
According to the paper, this is what they should be doing from 2 to 3 years and she is already doing all of these things:
is constantly in motion (SOOOOOO TRUE)
runs and climbs (everything!)
walks up and down stairs alone (has been doing this for a while now)
reverts to baby behavior sometimes (LOL)
knows gender
enjoys playing among, not with, other kids
claims everything is "mine"
uses 3 to 5 word phrases (she can say anything now and mostly speaks in complete sentences)
is in the "do it myself" stage
She can count to at least 13
She can sing her ABC's and a handfull of other songs
She copies everything Landen does and says
She loves to read books and be read to
She is VERY dramatic
We also discussed her leg pain. We were having a hard time deciding if her leg really hurt or if it was an attention getter as she often cries that it hurts at bedtime or when she is told no. We rub her leg for 2 seconds and she is fine. The dr said that this is the age where they start to have growing pains and that very well could be what she's having now. We are to give her baths at night before bed and tylenol as needed if it seems to really be bothering her. She does walk on her tip toes, so I'm hoping that's not contributing to it. I totally forgot to mention that to the dr when we were there even though that was at the top of my list!!
And here is a cute video of Maddie saying her night time prayer
(Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Angels watch me through the night and wake me with the morning light. God Bless Mommy, Daddy, Bubba and everybody everywhere. (the end part she rushes through and forgets sometimes)
